Wayne Gretzky – born in 1961 played as centre from 1978 to 1999. Entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1999. He wasn’t an athletic player but thanks to his intelligence and ability to read and predict the game he was called “Einstein of Hockey”.
Mario Lemieux – born in 1965, played for Pittsburgh Penguins as a forward for 17th seasons, between 1984 and 2006. He is the only person ever to win the Stanly Cup as player(1991 and 1992) and as owner(2009 as owner of Pittsburgh Penguins).
Bobby Orr – born in 1948, Orr played only in National Hockey League (NHL) as a defenseman. Hi is famous for his speed and scoring, holding the record for most points and assists of a defenseman in one season.
Gordie Howe – born in 1928, also known as Mr. Hockey, he is one of the ice hockey legends. He played as right wing being also the only player competing in NHL in six different decades.
Guy Lafleur – born in 1951, he won five Stanley Cups in a 17 seasons career.
Sidney Crosby – born in 1987, started to play in NHL in 2005. He already set various records such as: first rookie to record 100 points and 100 penalty minutes in a season, youngest player to record 100 points in a season and youngest NHL captain to win Stanley Cup.
Gilbert Perreault – born in 1950, played between 1970 and 1987. He is known as an exceptional playmaking centres.
Jaromir Jagr – born in 1972, the Czech right winger started his ice hockey career in 1988 at the age of 16. He is member of Triple Gold Club (the group of players that won the three major trophies: Stanley Cup, World Championships and Olympics).
Alexander Ovechkin – born in 1985, started his career in Russia in 2001. He already played in First All-Star Team for five consecutive seasons.
Steve Yzerman – born in 1965, he played all his career (1983–2006) at Detroit Red Wings. He served as a captain for two decades, leading the team in more than 1300 games.
