South Africa ready for the World Cup

Back in 2004, when South Africa won the right to host the 2010 World Cup tournament, just few thought that this African country will manage to pull it through. With one month before the first match, organizers announced that the preparations are finally over, and the country is ready for the kick-off.

Danny Jordaan, the head of South Africa’s Organizing Committee proudly announced that the country completed all of the 10 stadiums that will host the World Cup’s 64 matches. The total investment made for the upgrading the most needed stadiums reached two billion dollars. The government also spent about $2 billion to improve the transportation infrastructure. (more…)
