Infertility, a problem increasingly common

The infertility consists in the incapacity of conceiving after more than a year of trying, affecting both men and women. The number of infertile couples constantly increased in the last 20-30 years and now there are countries with infertility rates as high as 10% of the population. The infertility can have many causes but fortunately there are also many treatments available.

The impact that infertility has in the social environment and for human development led to substantial medical research in this field, some studies being successful. (more…)

Margaret Thatcher: Prime Minister of the United Kingdom 1979-1990. She was the first woman head of state to one of the top seven industrialized nations plus Russia (G8).  She also was the first woman to chair the G8.

Angela Merkel: is Germany’s Chancellor since November 2005. She is the first woman head of government in Germany. She is the second woman to lead the G8 summit.

Benazir Bhutto: was Prime Minister of Pakistan in office for the first time in 1988 at the age of 35, but was removed from office 20 months later. She was reelected in 1993 and was in office till 1996. (more…)

Mariah Carey: born March 27, 1970 she won five Grammy Awards and sold more than 175 million albums, singles and videos worldwide and she is still one of the best female artists in the world.

Whitney Houston: born in August 1963. Won six Grammy awards but the cover version of the 1974 Dolly Parton song “I Will Always Love You” made her famous. (more…)

Now vs. Future

In the near future women will be shorter, chubbier and healthier. This is the conclusion of a scientific study made at University of Yale. Stephen Stearns, professor at Yale conducted a study on 2.238 women and concluded that the human race is still evolving, in the near future women’s figure slightly changing.

The 90-60-90 beauty standard will be vanquished in the next 40 years due to the changes that will occur in the ladies figures. In 2050 young women will be shorter with 1.5 inches and 4.5 pounds heavier than now. In the future women will also be more fertile, giving birth to more babies. Women will have their first baby six months earlier than now. (more…)
