China, an exceptional travel destination

China is the most populated in the world and the fourth largest country on the globe with a total area of 9,596,960 sq km. Being one of the world’s oldest continuous civilizations, China also has one of the world’s oldest written language systems. Chinese people are considered the source of many major inventions and currently they are the third largest economy.

The hottest Chinese destinations are Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Xian, Tibet and Guangzhou. Beijing is the country’s capital city and one of the most splendid royal historic sites. Shanghai is one of the world’s largest economic centers, while Xian is the capital city of 13th dynasties and is famous for its Terracotta Warriors and wide city walls.

If you want to visit China don’t forget to check out Tibet, the “Roof of the World”, considered home of Tibetan culture and the Great Chinese Wall, that is visible from space. Another two hot destinations in china are Macau, the new capital of gambling, and Hong Kong, a world leading international financial centre.

This year you have another reason to visit China: Expo 2010 Shanghai. The 2010 World Exposition has the theme “Better City, Better Life,” and is expected to receive more than 70 million visitors. The World Expo aim is to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to display their achievements and improve international relationships.
