With so many islands and a very diverse culture, Indonesia has many extraordinary touristic attractions that range from tiny islands with sunny beaches to cities that are known as architectural wonders.

The most famous touristic attractions of Indonesia include Jakarta, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Bali and Lombok. Jakarta is the country’s capital and is the largest city in Indonesia. The enormous city blends the history represented by old colonial buildings with the new architectural trends represented by the state of the art skyscrapers.

Sumatra, the second largest island of Indonesia is a very famous destination for nature lovers and tourists that look for the perfect exotic beach. Sumatra is a volcanic island with hot springs, unexplored rich tropical rainforest and quiet sunny beaches. In nature reserves you can closely see tigers, elephants, tapirs and rhinos on their own territory.

Sulawesi is also known as the “Orchid Island” because of its orchid shape. The Bunaken Sea Garden, located in the north part of the island is considered one of the top ten best snorkeling and diving spots in the world.

Bali is considered by a lot of tourists a true paradise on earth. There are so many touristic attractions in Bali, but the most visited are the temples and the beaches. Last year Bali received the Travel and Leisure Best Island award for its fabulous sights, hospitality and exquisite restaurants.
